People

The employees of The Porter Company are among the most experienced, well-trained professionals and craftspeople in the industry. At the management level, we offer tremendous collective and individual experience – on average, each of our managers and supervisors have more than 25 years of experience.

Aaron Richards

CEO

Aaron joined The Porter Co. in 1995 after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University. He serves as CEO of the company. Aaron’s project experience includes the University of Texas, Weaver Power Plant, Dell Headquarters, Applied Materials and Koch Microelectronic Chemical Company, just to name a few.

Zeke Gowin

President

Zeke Gowin joined The Porter Co. in 1995 as a sheet metal apprentice. After completing a four-year apprenticeship, Zeke served as a project superintendent on the Dell campus in Pflugerville, TX before joining the preconstruction team in late 2000. In addition to his hands-on field experience, Zeke has performed the role of project manager when needed and because of this experience, he brings a unique perspective to the executive team. Zeke now serves as the President of our company.

Jacob Martin

CFO

Born and raised in Orange, California, Jacob graduated in 2009 from Loyola Marymount University/Loyola Law School with a JD/MBA joint degree. He is still a licensed attorney in California and is working on his Texas CPA. Jacob joined The Porter Co. in 2019 as our Controller and now serves as CFO.

John Gabarron

Vice President, Operations

A Texas State University alumnus, John joined The Porter Co. in 2010 as a Project Engineer. He’s worked on large projects like the Aloft/Element Hotel, Westin Hotel, and HEB Mueller. As a Project Executive he oversaw projects like Data Foundry, Kalahari Resort Round Rock, and Block 71. John is responsible for the development and performance of the Project Management team members that directly operate our projects.

Blair Newman

Vice President, Operations

Blair brought his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Toledo to The Porter Co. in 2013 as an Assistant Project Manager. He’s worked on projects like University of Texas Chilling Station #7, Marriot Austin Downtown, and Austin FC Q2 Stadium. In his role as VP Operations, Blair manages multiple project management teams for large commercial HVAC and plumbing contracts. He is part of the team that recruits and trains project management staff as well as develops and maintains department policies and procedures.

Denise Moon

Vice President, Process Systems

Baylor alumnus, Denise joined The Porter Co. in 2016 as a Project Manager and has overseen large projects like Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Tesla, and TxDOT. In her current role as Vice President, Denise provides training and guidance to the project team on meeting project goals, specifically in the Semiconductor/Manufacturing Industry. She is responsible for meeting the overall strategic and business goals of the organization.

Shaun Joseph

Vice President, Preconstruction

Shaun earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. He joined The Porter Co. in 2007 as a Project Manager leading jobs like UT Chilling Station #6 and Texas A&M Combined Heat and Power Upgrades, then University of Texas Engineering Education and Research Center as a Project Executive. Shaun now leads the Estimating Department and is responsible for all business development and project pursuits.

Daniel Anderson

Vice President, Sheet Metal Labor

Daniel joined The Porter Co. in 2002 as a pre-apprentice. During his tenure, he worked on large projects like University of Texas Engineering Education Research Center, the JW Marriott, and Circuit of the Americas. As VP, Daniel applies his 25+ years of experience to oversee all aspects of our sheet metal operations. He works with our shop/project superintendents to develop fabrication and installation plans and staff the project accordingly to ensure we complete the project on schedule and exceed our customers’ expectations.

TJ Dodd

Vice President, Piping/Plumbing Labor

TJ joined The Porter Co. in 2018 with extensive experience and certifications in Apprenticeship Training. He’s responsible for daily labor supervision ensuring we are planning our work, executing our plan, following our processes and procedures, and utilizing all available resources to complete a successful project for owners, general contractors, and our company.
